Summary A Senior Data Engineer at Crestron plays a key role in designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines and architectures that power critical business decisions. In this role, you will lead the development of scalable data solutions, collaborate closely with developers, BRMs, analysts, and cross-functional teams, and drive best practices in data engineering and infrastructure. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of modern data technologies, a strong background in software engineering, and a passion for turning raw data into actionable insights. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Databricks, and related services. Build and optimize ETL workflows to ingest, transform, and deliver data across multiple environments and applications. Implement best practices for data quality, governance, and security within Azure cloud environments. Manage and optimize data workflows and storage solutions in Azure, including Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Blob Storage. Work within Azure DevOps for code management, CI/CD pipelines, release automation, and infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like ARM templates. Develop and support integrations between Azure data services and SAP systems(SAP ECC, BW, CRM), ensuring accurate and timely data exchange. Collaborate with SAP functional and technical teams to support data extraction, transformation, and loading. Lead the development and maintenance of ETL processes using tools such as Bryteflow, SAP PI/PO, or custom-built frameworks. Monitor and tune ETL jobs for performance, reliability, and scalability. Act as Scrum Master for the data engineering team: plan and lead daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and reviews. Create Change Requests (CHGs) and as Change Owners, ensure they are submitted for approval in accordance with the Change Management Policy. Manage and resolve data-related incidents and service requests using ServiceNow. Maintain SLAs, perform root cause analysis, and document resolution procedures. Implement data security and privacy policies Create and implement strategies and plans to ensure user adoption and proficiency of all enterprise data solutions, as well as to minimize overall risk. Ensure project management techniques are used for all solutions and critical issue resolution including communications plan, training plan, impact assessment plans. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience. 5-7 years of experience architecting enterprise data solutions Inclusive of Data Warehouse fact and dimensional modeling concepts Architecting data solutions for simplicity, massive scale, resiliency, and maintainability Experience with ETL/ELT on transactional systems, such as SAP ECC, SAP S4/HANA and Salesforce Proficiency in Azure Synapse, Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, Pipelines, Azure Data Factory, Python, Databricks, SQL Experience with data tools such as Power BI and Purview Expertise with cloud automation tooling such as ARM Templates Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems and databases Experience/knowledge of cloud computing, enterprise computing, PaaS, IaaS and/or SaaS products Experience in technical leadership in driving engineering roadmaps, mentoring, and helping others grow technically. Experience taking a leading role in building a complex data modeling system. Knowledge of functional areas, such as, order to cash, plan to produce, etc. is plus. Per applicable state requirements, the annual pay range for this position ($111,000 - $159,000) which consists of base salary (subject to performance), reflects the hiring range for candidates. Also note, an individual’s offer may vary from this range as it may be impacted by additional factors, including but not limited to the candidate's hiring location, qualifications, experience, and market factors.
