The Opportunity: Brkthru is seeking a Senior Data Architect to lead the development and optimization of our data warehouse, ELT pipelines, and API layer while serving as a key contributor to the design and delivery of AI/ML-powered data products and workflows. This dual-focused role bridges scalable data infrastructure with AI innovation, enabling seamless, secure data flows between clients, vendors, and advanced machine learning systems. Reporting to the CTO, the Senior Data Architect will design and implement robust, scalable solutions using tools like Snowflake, AWS, and medallion architecture to transform data into actionable insights. You’ll be responsible for leading the development of AI-ready ELT pipelines, implementing role-based access controls, and supporting dashboarding and reporting systems. You will also champion Brkthru’s AI initiatives, such as predictive modeling, intelligent automation, and MLOps pipelines while collaborating cross-functionally to address data gaps, enhance workflows, and document evolving architecture. Data Warehousing and Integration: Administer and optimize Snowflake (or similar platforms) to support structured data ingestion, transformation, and AI model training. Manage integrations using AWS services like S3, IAM, Glue, and Lambda. Medallion Architecture Implementation: Apply the medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers) to improve data quality, consistency, and usability for downstream ML systems. AI/ML Pipeline Enablement: Design and manage automated data pipelines for model training, fine-tuning, and batch inference. Ensure datasets meet machine learning quality standards (e.g., timeliness, completeness, relevance). Collaboration with Data Science & AI Product Teams: Work closely with data scientists, analysts, subject matter experts and product owners to operationalize models. Translate AI product goals into scalable, well-documented data systems. Model Deployment & Monitoring Support: Contribute to infrastructure for deploying and monitoring ML models in production environments. Ensure appropriate logging, performance tracking, and observability. Security and Governance: Implement robust access controls (RBAC), data protection strategies, and IaC (e.g., Terraform) for reproducibility and compliance. Dashboarding and Reporting: Support visualization/reporting tools (e.g., Ninjacat, Tableau) and assist in surfacing real-time AI insights across internal and external platforms. Documentation & Stakeholder Communication: Maintain high-quality documentation for data models, pipelines, and ML integrations. Communicate clearly across technical and non-technical teams. Requirements Minimum Qualifications Experience: 8+ years in data engineering roles, with significant experience in both traditional ETL/ELT systems and supporting AI/ML workflows. Prior experience enabling AI products or ML model delivery is required. Technical Skills: Advanced SQL and Python skills; Experience with Snowflake or other cloud data warehouses; Workflow orchestration (Airflow, Prefect, etc.); Hands-on use of ML frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, HuggingFace; Familiarity with Pandas, NumPy, SciPy for feature engineering and data prep; Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar); Familiarity with containerized environments (Docker, ECS, or EKS). AI/ML Knowledge: Extensive understanding of ML pipeline structure (training evaluation deployment) and familiarity with AI agents, agent orchestration, and Model Context Protocol (MCP); knowledge of data labeling, model versioning, and AI observability; exposure to NLP, NLU, or generative AI workflows is a plus; strong grasp of metrics for model and data quality. Soft skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges. Able to balance near-term execution with long-term platform thinking.
