📋 Description
• HTS Checkout combines payment services, fraud detection, and digital wallet capabilities to enhance travel experience and drive revenue for partners
• Seeking a senior backend software engineer to improve fraud and abuse detection capabilities
• Design, build and review code for the fraud and abuse backend platform
• Iterate on features using Scala and technologies within GCP
• Ship code quickly and iterate in an agile manner
• Operate autonomously while working closely with engineers and product managers
• Collaborate cross-functionally with the product team and other Hopper teams
• Work within a containerized microservices architecture running in Google Cloud Kubernetes

🎯 Requirements
• 4+ years of experience building scalable backend systems
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and how architectural decisions affect performance and maintainability
• Ability to work with minimal guidance, be proactive and handle uncertainty and ambiguity
• Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams with Product Managers, Data Scientists, Frontend Engineers, and other specialists
• Prior experience in the payments and fraud space a plus
• Familiarity with Scala (no prior experience required) and GCP services (GKE, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Spanner)
• Experience with containerized microservices architecture and data-driven tools (Amplitude, Datadog)
