Our vision is to become the full-service end-of-life and memorialization destination.The Engineering Manager reports directly to the VP of Technology and serves as a hands-on technical leader across Legacy.com’s consumer-facing and search experience engineering teams. This individual bridges business strategy and technical execution, translating product and design objectives into performant, maintainable software, while managing small pod of full-stack engineers and ensuring architectural consistency across the web and search platforms.This role is full-time remote with occasional travel to Chicago HQ.Responsibilities• Lead development across React/Next.js, Node.js, Python, GraphQL, and OpenSearch/Vector DB systems• Serve as the primary technical interface with Product and Business stakeholders• Drive architecture and implementation of front-end, API, and search-layer systems• Guide integration of AI/ML features (semantic search, LLM-based personalization)• Enforce coding standards, accessibility (WCAG), and CI/CD best practices• Manage small pod of engineers and guide long-term technical growth plans
        Requirements
