• Power the maps that power the nation!
• Play a key role in one of the nation’s most important geospatial efforts by contributing to the U.S. Geological Survey’s ongoing development of The National Map.
• Help design, develop, and maintain advanced geospatial systems that power the creation and delivery of topographic products used by agencies, emergency responders, and the public.
• Work with Python libraries like ArcPy and GDAL within a modern DevOps environment, contributing to a team focused on automation, scalability, and data integrity through CI/CD pipelines.
• From building intuitive front-end experiences to developing robust backend systems, this role combines software engineering and geospatial expertise to deliver reliable, high-performance applications that support national planning, public safety, and environmental initiatives.
• Use your technical skills to support a mission that helps the public and improves the nation’s mapping systems.

🎯 Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, or a related discipline with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Hands-on experience with ArcGIS Pro for conducting spatial analysis, creating detailed maps, and processing geospatial data for visualization and decision support.
• Strong understanding of spatial databases for storing and querying geospatial information.
• Proficiency in Python geospatial libraries, such as ArcPy and GDAL, to automate GIS workflows, streamline data processing, and enhance the efficiency and accuracy of geospatial data management.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions) to support automated testing, integration, and deployment of geospatial applications
