Led by our empathetic care teams, guided by proven care models, and powered by our own technology, we deliver a level of service that our communities rightfully deserve but rarely receive. While our headquarters is in Bethesda, MD, our teams are distributed across the country.  If you’re eager to make a tangible difference in people’s lives, to help correct long-standing disparities in health care, join us. About the role:As a Data Engineer for Accompany Health, you will help shape the future of healthcare data.  Your Impact: A mission-critical, early part of our growing team (and company).Collaborate across the organization with various teams, including Product, Sales, and Clinical Operations, to rewire health care: Your choices will matter, and you will work across various teams to help execute the choices.Drive the change in healthcare: You will build the products to integrate highly fragmented and dispersed healthcare services as an end-to-end experience.Be part of building a great engineering culture,  maintaining the balance and right tradeoff for building products for speed and tech debt. Responsibilities will include:Be a data champion and seek to empower others to leverage data to its full potentialSupport and contribute to our data platform strategy while developing a deep understanding of our data ecosystemAssist in designing and implementing scalable data infrastructure components that support both internal and external productsCollaborate with Product teams to help translate business requirements into technical solutions for our data platformLearn and apply data engineering best practices while building reliable, observable data pipelinesWork with moderately complex data sets to meet functional and non-functional business requirementsHelp build and maintain infrastructure for extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various sourcesPartner with Executive, Clinical, Data, and Design teams to provide technical support for data infrastructure needsDevelop data tools and contribute to analytics capabilities that help optimize our product and drive innovationDesired skills and experience:0-2 years of data engineering experience or recent graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or related fieldFoundational knowledge of data pipeline concepts including databases, ETL processes, and basic distributed systemsSolid SQL skills and understanding of data modeling principles for both structured and semi-structured dataExperience with or eagerness to learn data transformation processes and data quality best practicesProblem-solving mindset with interest in learning modern data technologies and frameworksBasic experience with data analysis and turning business requirements into technical approachesAnalytical thinking skills and comfort working with various data formats and sourcesUnderstanding of or willingness to learn about data governance, metadata management, and workflow orchestrationStrong communication skills, eagerness to learn, and collaborative mindsetWhat you'll gain:Hands-on experience working with real-world healthcare data and applications.Mentorship from experienced engineers and exposure to cutting edge technologies.A collaborative and fast-paced startup environment with opportunities to contribute meaningfully.We use the following software/tools:Apache Spark, Kafka Languages: Python, Golang, Java, ScalaOrchestration: Apache Airflow Experience with Data Lake architectures, pipelinesRelational databases like Postgres or MySQLAWS S3, AWS Glue, AWS AthenaFor Patient Facing RolesTo keep our patients, communities and each other safe, you'll be required to comply with Accompany Health’s medical clearance requirements, including completing a TB screen and providing proof of immunity or vaccination for certain conditions.
