This is a technical leadership role where you'll design infrastructure-as-code solutions, create self-service platforms for development teams, and establish the architectural patterns that enable us to scale.You'll work independently with limited supervision, making technical decisions about cloud architecture, security baselines, and infrastructure patterns.Responsibilities:Infrastructure ArchitectureDesign and implement AWS cloud architecture from the ground up, including multi-account strategy, networking patterns, security baselines, and environment configurationsBuild infrastructure-as-code foundations using Terraform, creating reusable modules that encode organizational standardsEstablish "golden paths" for common infrastructure patterns—making the right way the easy wayPlatform DevelopmentCreate self-service infrastructure tooling (CLIs, APIs, or interfaces) that hide AWS complexity from internal users while maintaining security guardrailsBuild abstraction layers that provide infrastructure provisioning without sacrificing governanceDevelop documentation and enablement materials that teach teams to leverage infrastructure independentlyTechnical LeadershipServe as a technical authority on cloud infrastructure and architecture decisionsEstablish observability foundations (logging, metrics, tracing) for platform health visibilityAutomate operational tasksCommunicate complex technical decisions to engineering and business stakeholderRequired Qualifications:5-8+ years in infrastructure, cloud engineering, or platform rolesDeep AWS expertise with production environment design (VPC, EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudFormation/CDK)Terraform mastery including module design, state management, and multi-environment strategiesPlatform thinking: Experience building self-service infrastructure or internal tooling that enables teamsAutomation philosophy: Strong scripting/coding in Python, Go, Bash, or similarSystems thinking: You make decisions based on multiple constraints—infrastructure, security, compliance, and developer experience must balanceIndependent executor: You work autonomously, making sound technical judgments and seeking input when neededProduct mindset: You treat infrastructure as a product with internal customers, caring about developer experience and platform usabilityPreferred Qualifications:Building Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs) or self-service infrastructureRegulated industries (chemical, manufacturing, healthcare, financial) with compliance requirementsServerless Architecture and Lambda experienceTrack record mentoring engineers and establishing infrastructure practicesHybrid cloud or multi-cloud experience (AWS primary, Azure/GCP helpful)
