Our client is a leading media technology systems integrator and is seeking a highly skilled Backup Solutions Architect to support an upcoming enterprise backup project. This role will be key in the presales and discovery phase, including solution design, proof-of-concept planning, and project scoping discussions.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement enterprise-grade backup and recovery solutions using IBM TSM (Spectrum Protect) and Dell EMC Avamar

Lead technical planning and deployment across hybrid environments (on-premises, cloud, and virtualized)

Evaluate and optimize existing backup strategies for performance, scalability, and compliance

Integrate backup tools with enterprise applications and storage platforms

Create documentation and procedures for backup, retention, and recovery policies

Provide expert support during audits, disaster recovery tests, and incident response

Troubleshoot and resolve complex backup/restore issues

Required Skills & Experience:

Extensive hands-on experience with IBM TSM / Spectrum Protect and Dell EMC Avamar

5+ years designing and managing enterprise backup infrastructures

Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) for automation

Familiarity with cloud backup solutions (AWS, Azure, etc.)

Solid understanding of SAN/NAS storage systems, networking, and virtualization platforms

Knowledge of data compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOX)

Preferred Qualifications:

Certifications in IBM Spectrum Protect and/or Dell EMC Avamar

Experience with complementary backup technologies such as Data Domain, NetWorker, or Veeam

Disaster recovery planning and performance tuning experience

Soft Skills:

Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
