Position Description: We’re looking for a NodeJS Engineer who is passionate about building scalable, high-quality backend systems and enjoys collaborating across teams to deliver great product experiences. You’ll play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining services primarily written in Node.js, with exposure to Ruby, PostgreSQL, and potentially hardware-integrated systems. Our technology bridges financial payment providers, retail fuel pump technology, and customer experience by wrapping low-level standards-compliant integrations with powerful software abstractions on an ultra-modern software platform. Our platform services and applications are built using a broad swath of technologies (Typescript, NodeJS, Ruby, React, and others), interconnected via GraphQL and RabbitMQ, and run in AWS using Terraform, Helm and Kubernetes (via EKS). Position Location: US, Remote Reports To: Engineering Manager What We’re Looking For: Strong background in Node.js/Typescript, PostgreSQL. Ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues efficiently. A proactive mindset with a strong commitment to understanding and meeting customer needs. Excellent teamwork skills, coupled with an ownership mindset and the ability to work independently. Additional Skills: Strong proficiency in Node.js (Typescript) and database management (PostgreSQL). Ruby is a plus. 3+ years of backend development (with distributed systems and microservices) experience. Proficiency with GraphQL, TypeORM, and Nest.js. Experience working with K8S, message brokers (RMQ), APIs, especially proprietary hardware or device integrations is a plus. Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills across software and hardware domains. Ability to self-organize and manage tasks in a fast-paced, ticket-driven environment. Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver end-to-end solutions. Investigate and resolve production issues and customer-reported bugs with a focus on root-cause analysis and long-term maintainability. Contribute to system design discussions and architectural decisions. Continuously improve code quality, testing practices, and development processes.
