With recent Series A funding of $15M, we're rapidly expanding our operations to meet growing demand from major media companies.The OpportunityAs a Backend Engineer at Akkio, you will play an essential role in designing and building the server-side infrastructure that powers our AI-driven data analytics platform. You'll focus on creating robust, scalable systems that handle large amounts of data to help our customers transform how they leverage data throughout the campaign lifecycle.This is a unique opportunity to join a well-funded, early-stage AI startup and shape the future of AI-powered marketing analytics while working with a talented team. You'll be joining at an exciting growth stage, with the chance to make a significant impact on our technical direction and company success.What You'll DoDesign and build backend infrastructure and APIs to support user-facing featuresCollaborate with engineers, data scientists, and marketing experts to create products that help media agencies achieve their goalsDesign and implement REST APIs, database schemas, and data processing pipelinesOptimize system performance and scalability to support our growing customer baseImplement security measures to protect sensitive client dataParticipate in code reviews and contribute to software development standardsBuild on both new & legacy code bases, balancing tech debt with feature developmentCommunicate project milestones and progress clearlyAdapt and prioritize as new goals and challenges arise in a startup environmentWho You Are3+ years of backend engineering experience with demonstrable problem-solving abilityExperience writing maintainable, testable, production-grade Python codeStrong understanding of REST APIs, database design, and web application architectureKnowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and modern deployment practicesUnderstanding of data processing pipelines and analytics systemsExperience with version control systems like GitStrong bias to execution coupled with high engineering standards and attention to detailInterest in AI and machine learning (experience a plus, but not required)Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)Bonus Points:Experience with machine learning systems and data science workflowsKnowledge of data visualization and analytics toolsExperience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)Understanding of security best practices for handling sensitive dataPrevious startup experienceFamiliarity with frontend technologies and full-stack developmentWhy You'll Love Working HereJoin Akkio and help transform how media companies leverage AI in marketing and advertising.
