Job Description: Position OverviewThe Application Engineer & Quotation Specialist serves as a critical technical liaison between the Engineering department and Sales organization, focusing primarily on manufactured power distribution equipment. This role acts as a technical expert for the company's manufactured product lines, providing feasibility assessments, cost estimation, and technical specification reviews to support the sales process for manufactured equipment. The position reports to the Technical Solution & Applications Leader within the Engineering organization.Key Responsibilities:Technical Solution DevelopmentProvide technical expertise on the company's manufactured product offerings, particularly switchboards, panel boards, and other power distribution equipmentDetermine technical feasibility of custom solution requests for manufactured productsDevelop and maintain in-depth knowledge of UL standards, NEC requirements, and other relevant technical specificationsSupport the development of standard product configurations and engineering standardsModel complex configurations for manufactured products to assess technical viabilityValidate that proposed solutions meet safety standards and compliance requirementsCost Estimation & QuotationProvide detailed labor and material cost estimations for manufactured productsEnsure accuracy of pricing data to protect project marginsCreate quotations for manufactured equipment based on technical requirementsCoordinate with the Pakistan-based estimation team for proposal developmentMaintain costing databases and contribute to quotation process optimizationTechnical Specification ReviewReview customer specifications for technical compliance and manufacturabilityIdentify required exceptions to specifications and provide technical justificationAnalyze large specification documents (sometimes 100+ pages) to extract key requirementsRecommend appropriate solutions based on technical specificationsDocument technical decisions and specifications for manufacturingEngineering Standards DevelopmentContribute to the development of standard product offeringsDocument technical parameters and configurations for standard productsCreate technical references for repeatability and efficiencyMaintain engineering standards documentationSupport continuous improvement of manufacturing processesCollaboration & SupportWork closely with the Sales organization to provide technical expertise on manufactured productsInterface between Engineering and Sales to ensure manufacturability of proposed solutionsSupport the creation of technical documentation for manufactured productsAssist with HubSpot implementation for technical aspects of proposalsProvide training and guidance on technical aspects of manufactured productsRequirements:Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical degree5+ years experience in power distribution equipment engineering or similar roleStrong knowledge of UL standards (UL 891, UL 67) and NEC requirementsExperience with power distribution equipment manufacturing and designTechnical KnowledgeDeep understanding of low voltage distribution systemsProficiency with electrical design software and toolsExpertise in switchboard, panel board, and power distribution unit designFamiliarity with manufacturing processes and constraintsKnowledge of HubSpot or similar CRM systemsSkills & AbilitiesExcellent problem-solving and analytical skillsStrong technical communication abilitiesAttention to detail and high degree of accuracyAbility to manage multiple priorities simultaneouslyStrong collaboration skills with cross-functional teamsSelf-motivated with ability to work independentlyCompensationCompetitive base salary commensurate with experienceComprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off
