You Are: UST is searching for an AI/ML Engineer who will design, prototype, and deliver production-grade AI solutions using LLMs, RAG, and Agentic frameworks. The opportunity: Solution Architecture & Development Architect and deploy scalable AI solutions using LLMs and Agentic AI frameworks (LangGraph, Crew AI, Autogen). Customer Collaboration Partner with Sales and Solution Architecture teams to understand client needs. Design custom AI solutions and PoCs for enterprise customers. Advanced RAG Implementation Build RAG pipelines using advanced techniques like: Query transformation Reranking Hybrid search Backend Engineering Develop backend APIs/services with FastAPI or Flask to integrate AI models. Prompt & Context Engineering Create effective prompts and implement context strategies to guide LLM behavior. Cloud Platform Expertise Use cloud AI platforms: Google Cloud (Vertex AI, Agent Builder) Microsoft Azure (Azure AI Studio) AWS (SageMaker, Bedrock) AI-Driven Software Acceleration Apply AI tools to accelerate software development lifecycle, improve code quality, and reduce delivery time. Continuous Innovation Stay updated on AI trends and experiment with new models and frameworks. Documentation & Best Practices Create documentation for architecture, models, and technical decisions for technical and non-technical audiences. This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required. What you need: Bachelor's or Master’s in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field. 3–7 years in software engineering or machine learning roles. Technical Skills Strong Python development skills (FastAPI, Flask, etc.). Proficiency in: o Machine learning lifecycle o Deep learning (especially Transformers) o Python data stack: Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, Matplotlib o Frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch, JAX LLM & Agentic AI Experience Hands-on experience with: o LLMs: GPT, LLaMA, Claude, Mistral, Gemini o Libraries: Hugging Face, LangChain, LlamaIndex o Agentic AI frameworks: LangGraph, Crew AI, etc. (key requirement) RAG Expertise Experience designing and deploying RAG architectures. Familiar with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, ChromaDB). Prompt Engineering Skilled in: o Complex prompt crafting o Chain-of-thought, few-shot, system prompt design Core Knowledge Strong understanding of: o ML concepts o NLP o Software engineering principles (data structures, algorithms, APIs) Communication Excellent communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences. Preferred Qualifications Experience in client-facing or consulting roles. Knowledge of: o LLM fine-tuning (e.g., PEFT) o RLHF (Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback) Deep experience with at least one major cloud AI platform (GCP, Azure, AWS). Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below. Role Location: Remote Compensation Range: $65,000-$98,000 Benefits Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as the following Company-paid Employee Only benefits: basic life insurance, accidental death and disability insurance, and short- and long-term disability benefits. Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines.
