About the roleUride is seeking a Senior Frontend Developer to join our growing technology team. In this role, you’ll take ownership of building responsive, accessible, and high-performing user interfaces that power our ridesharing and future service marketplace platforms. Reporting to the Team Lead, you’ll collaborate closely with backend developers, product managers, and designers to bring engaging user experiences to life.As we scale across Canada and prepare for international growth, this is a critical role for someone comfortable navigating complexity, mentoring others, and contributing to architectural decisions, all while keeping users at the centre.What you'll doLead the design, development, and optimisation of frontend components for web and mobile platforms.Collaborate with UX/UI designers and product managers to implement intuitive, accessible, and responsive user interfaces.Write clean, modular, and testable code using modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks (e.g. React, React Native).Ensure cross-browser compatibility and performance across different devices and network conditions.Integrate APIs and work closely with backend engineers to ensure seamless user experiences.Drive continuous improvements in UI performance, accessibility, and usability.Mentor junior developers and help maintain a collaborative engineering cultureParticipate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical decision-making.Qualifications7+ years of professional experience in frontend development, with a strong focus on single-page applications.Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, with deep knowledge of frameworks such as React.jsReact Native.Strong experience with HTML5, CSS3, Flexbox Familiarity with state management tools (e.g., Context api,  Redux, Zustand, or Vuex).Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, or Cypress.Strong understanding of accessibility, responsiveness, and web performance best practices.Familiarity with mobile-first or progressive web app development.Comfortable working in an agile, remote-first environment with cross-functional teamsExposure to DevOps tools and CI/CD workflows (e.g. GitHub Actions, Netlify)Bonus SkillsExperience with FigmaExperience integrating frontend applications with GraphQL or RESTful APIs.Familiarity with component libraries or design systems (e.g. Storybook, TailwindCSS).Background in ridesharing, logistics, or marketplace platforms.
