Key Objective
Your initial assignment if you choose to accept it will be adding new features and enhancements.  We also have new mockups of how we would like the UI to eventually look and you would be the goto person in helping accomplish that.  When needed we will be using React/Redux on the Front-end or stick with the minimal JavaScript (jQuery) we can get away with.
Allegory is built primarily in Ruby-on Rails with jQuery and some React/Redux.  It is a robust, document-heavy application using a PostgreSQL database.  OCR is built into our document pipeline.  For search, we use Elastic Search.  Our main application is cloud-based, hosted on Amazon AWS.
What you’ll be working on:

Building the UI with React, Bootstrap, Sass, styled components and adding to our component library
Work closely with product team to dissect features
Interfacing with a RoR API
Work with DevOps on deploying UI deliverables
Mentor current development team on React and front-end best practices
Manage your own time and be responsible with minimal oversight.

Personal Success Characteristics

You have intermediate to advanced knowledge of JavaScript (ES6)
You can refactor legacy JavaScript code into reusable components where needed while writing tests around it.
CSS (Responsive) and HTML are second nature to you.
Your familiar with or would like to learn JavaScript canvas
You know how best to test front end components
You can use Git with GitLab (branching, merging, pull requests)
You are not afraid to express your opinion in a professional manner
Ruby on Rails knowledge a plus

Current front-end stack:
jQuery, numerous jQuery plugins, Angular 1, ReactJS, styled-components, Jest, Enzyme, Webpack and Babel thru RoR.
