The individual will work within an energetic team environment to perform thermal-hydraulic and plant transient analyses to support a variety of applications including BWR reload analysis, power uprate and new power plant analyses.  The position offers limitless opportunity to learn the fundamental bases of nuclear power plant operations and safety analysis by applying state-of-the-art thermal hydraulics methods to satisfy licensing requirements and solve real day to day plant problems. Additionally, this position has direct customer-facing opportunities through training, deliverables, and collaboration.  The transient analysis team offers unique opportunities to create and/or improve cutting-edge automation and methods. The individual will lead a variety of projects including technical evaluations and analyses in the area of plant transients, thermal hydraulics, Anticipated Transients without Scram, Heat Balances and thermal hydraulic fuel channel analyses. This individual will deliver products at a consistently high and sustainable level in accordance with customer requirements, business procedures, and regulatory agency guidelines. Essential Responsibilities: As the Lead Transients Analysis Engineer, you will: Lead a variety of projects including technical evaluations and analyses in the area of Anticipated Operational Occurrences, Anticipated Transients without Scram, Reactor Heat Balance, and Thermal Hydraulic Fuel Channel Analyses Deliver products at a consistently high and sustainable level in accordance with customer requirements, business procedures, and regulatory agency guidelines. Excellent communication, presentation, and teamwork skills will be required to interface with a variety of individuals with diverse backgrounds. Have direct customer-facing opportunities through training, deliverables, and collaboration. Utilize unique opportunities to create and/or improve cutting-edge automation and methods Work effectively and make positive contributions in a dynamic team environment Prepare thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, and calculations Perform technical verification of engineering technical deliverables Provide engineering expertise, guidance, and technical mentoring Prepare, communicate, and present complex technical issues to internal and external customers and recommend solutions Implement continual improvement of transient analysis work processes Perform other relevant duties as assigned Required Qualifications: B.S. Degree in Engineering Discipline (Nuclear, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or similar). At least 4 years of relevant nuclear experience Eligibility Requirements: This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government. The preferred work location for this role is at the GEH Headquarters Wilmington, NC but qualified remote candidates will be considered. Desired Characteristics: Reactor Engineering Experience Experience with BWR core simulation and thermal-hydraulic systems codes. Background in power plant or process plant thermal hydraulics. Possess fundamental knowledge of BWR Systems and integrated plant response. Honest and straightforward with a high level of personal integrity. Demonstrate a strong personal commitment and determination. Detail oriented and accountable for results. Communicate with credibility and humility. Display a strong drive for continuous improvement. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
