JOB SUMMARY:  The Java Backend Developer works in the project team to develop best in class customer solutions based on the Adaptec Automation Software Framework.
 
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Develops software components based on design
 Writes and performs Unit/JUnit testing
 Actively documents software implementation
 Collaborates with the project team, actively communicating with the Line Manager, the Development Lead and the Software project manager
 Supports commissioning and post go-live activities onsite
 Provides remote support for integration onsite

 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  

 BSc in Computer Science or equivalent
 3+ years of software development experience in highly dynamic environments

 
SKILLS AND CHARACTERISTICS NECESSARY TO PERFORM THE JOB:  

 Knowledge of OOP/design patterns, distributed architectures and event driven programming 
 Experience with Java, C/C++ a plus
 Experience with PLC communication and driver programming
 Experience with web services
 Experience with databases (MS SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL,) 
 Experience with microservices (SpringBoot)
 Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
 Familiarity with DevOps and Agile methodologies
 Knowledge of warehouse automation a plus
 Familiarity with algorithms a plus

 
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $95,000-$115,000. The salary range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Adaptec Solutions considers factors including, but not limited to experience and geographic location.
