You love working on multiple projects at one time and are seeking the opportunity to broaden your experience from solving a customer’s challenges to formulating solutions to implementing new technologies that achieve effective results.This opportunity allows you to work with as well as learn from some of the best; our developers are full-stack solution creators, ready to build out applications using every tool at their disposal, from JavaScript to REST APIs written in Ruby to database modeling and testsMost importantly, you’re someone who shares in our passion for improving the lives of students through communication. This role will include:Work on the ParentSquare Web application, which is built using Ruby on RailsSolve complex end-user issues working with the customer success team to understand the problemIdentify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems working closely with the tech teamDesign and implement new features Write test cases using RSpec for all code additions and changesCoordinate with team members who work on different layers of infrastructureOur ideal candidate will have the following:2+ years of professional web application development experience. Experience with Ruby on Rails preferred (or a desire to learn how to use Ruby)Experience working with large-scale web applicationsProficiency with RESTful API developmentExperience with SQL (MySQL preferred)Bachelor’s degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems (Computer Information Systems, Business Information Systems, Management Information Systems, etc.), or related field.Some experience in DevOps and systems Understanding of version control including using Git.Proficiency with commonly used AWS services is a big plusFamiliarity with agile or lean software developmentExperience in writing integration and unit testsExcellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal)Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively both independently and in a collaborative team environment.The perks of working for us are great! You’ll get your foot in the door as our company continues to grow.
