Backed by Khosla, Maverick, and HC9, we’ve raised over $50M to build a new model of socially supported care addressing both medical and social determinants of health.The RoleWe are seeking a hands-on Senior Data Engineer (Platform Infrastructure) to build and manage the cloud infrastructure that powers Gather’s next-generation data platform. You’ll own our Google Cloud (GCP) environment, ensuring it’s resilient, secure, and cost-efficient. This role is foundational: you will create the backbone that enables ingestion, orchestration, and modeling across our entire stack.You’ll collaborate closely with the Lead Data Engineer on architectural design and the Pipelines Engineer on operational enablement — together forming the core data platform team.What You’ll DoArchitect & Build Cloud Infrastructure: Design, deploy, and own Gather’s data platform infrastructure on GCP using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform).Implement & Manage Security: Own the platform’s security posture, implementing IAM roles, VPCs, encryption, and monitoring for full HIPAA compliance.Enable Observability: Build monitoring, logging, and alerting across all platform services (Stackdriver, Grafana, etc.) to ensure reliability.Establish CI/CD Pipelines: Develop and maintain CI/CD workflows for dbt, Dagster, and Cloud Run services using tools like GitHub Actions or GitLab CI.Manage Core Ingestion Services: Deploy and operate BigQuery Data Transfer (AthenaOne Snowflake Share) and Cloud Run webhook services for real-time data ingestion.Optimize Performance & Cost: Monitor and tune BigQuery performance (slots, clustering, partitioning) for efficiency.Collaborate Closely: Work with the Lead Engineer to align infra design with data architecture, and support the Pipelines Engineer to ensure ingestion readiness.Preferred Experience & Qualifications5–8+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, SRE, or data platform engineering.Deep expertise in GCP (BigQuery, GCS, IAM, Cloud Run, networking) and Terraform.Proficiency with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and CI/CD tools.Experience with healthcare or other regulated (HIPAA, SOC2) environments is a strong plus.Familiarity with dbt, Dagster, and modern data pipelines preferred.Why Join Gather HealthBuild the data infrastructure foundation for a mission-driven healthcare company.Work with modern tools (GCP, Terraform, Dagster, dbt) in a greenfield environment.Join a remote-first, global team with high autonomy and ownership.Competitive salary.
