Job Description: Role Overview

We’re looking for a Web Designer (not a developer) with strong visual taste and brand instincts to elevate the look and feel of our marketing website.

The structure, content, and components already exist — what we need is someone who can own the visual experience: refine the aesthetic, strengthen the brand presence, and create a cohesive, modern design system that feels credible, youth-centered, and mission-driven.

Think: design direction, not layout production.

This is ideal for a designer who enjoys:

shaping visual identity
polishing real-world products
collaborating with engineers
and contributing their skills to meaningful social impact
What You’ll Own

You will lead the visual design layer of the site, including:

Brand & Visual System

Refine color palette and brand usage
Define typography hierarchy
Establish spacing, layout, and grid standards
Create button, form, and component styles
Develop iconography + imagery guidelines
Ensure a cohesive, recognizable design language
Page Design

Redesign key pages with stronger visual storytelling:
Homepage
Programs
About
Get Involved
Locations
Donation/Impact pages
Elevate clarity, warmth, and credibility through layout and visuals
Balance professionalism with youth-friendly energy
Design Execution

Deliver high-fidelity Figma mockups
Work within our existing page structure and components
Partner closely with our frontend engineer to translate designs cleanly into code
Ensure accessibility best practices (contrast, readability, inclusive design)
What We’re Looking For

2+ years experience in web or UI design
Strong portfolio showing modern, clean, high-quality marketing sites
Excellent visual taste and typography skills
Proficiency in Figma (required)
Understanding of responsive + accessible design
Ability to refine and elevate existing work (not just start from scratch)
Strong communicator who can present design decisions confidently
Nice to Have

Experience with nonprofits, education, or mission-driven brands
Familiarity with design systems
Experience collaborating with developers
Interest in social impact and youth empowerment
