If so, we would like to invite you to join the Paizo technology team as a Virtual Tabletop Developer!   In the role of Virtual Tabletop Developer, you will work alongside our technology, art, and creative teams to envision, build, test, and maintain feature-rich, performance-optimized modules that adapt the latest Pathfinder and Starfinder Second Edition Roleplaying Game releases for Foundry Virtual Tabletop and other virtual tabletop platforms. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Adapt Pathfinder and Starfinder Second Edition content into premium modules for Foundry Virtual Tabletop and other virtual tabletop systems, including deluxe adventure modules containing scenes, actors, items, journals, compendia, and custom scripted events based on the original material. Collaborate with the Art team to transform digital maps and assets into fully-featured scenes incorporating foreground layers, background layers, tiles, walls, lighting, and ambient sound, making use of the platform’s latest capabilities to create the most dynamic and immersive experiences possible. Document errata identified in source material during module development and collaborate with members of the Technology and editorial teams to report and resolve it. Collaborate with other members of the Technology team to scope features, track development progress, and respond to assigned tickets. Collaborate with members of multiple teams to ensure that tasks are well-defined, estimated accurately, and completed on schedule. Test, debug, and document code, maintaining optimization for performance, accessibility, and reusability. Maintain and update modules post-release to address bugs and ensure compatibility with Foundry platform updates. Collaborate with members of virtual tabletop system development teams to remain aware of planned updates and take advantage of parallel development opportunities where possible. Participate in discussions about new project opportunities and innovative ways to bring Paizo products into the virtual tabletop space. This includes participation in marketing and promotional activities to drive engagement, revenue, and adoption of the latest releases.   Essential Job Skills Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+); familiarity with TypeScript preferred Strong understanding of the Foundry VTT API (v12+), architecture, and modding best practices Proficiency with Node.js Experience building or expanding templates and UIs using Handlebars and HTML/CSS Experience with SCSS, Tailwind, and/or UI libraries and frameworks used in the VTT space (preferred) Experience using module bundlers (Webpack, Rollup, Vite, etc.) and task runners (building, minifying, linting) Familiarity with Git/GitLab workflows Mastery of the English language Basic artistic understanding with an eye toward clarity of presentation, continuity, and organization, largely to aid in the creation of UIs, player handouts, and maps Adaptability to shifting workflows and responsibilities Skill at communicating and holding respectful discussions in a professional setting Ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to manage time effectively a must Ability to work without supervision and as part of a tightly integrated team Strong interest in games of all types, including card games, board games, video games, and roleplaying games Supervisory Responsibility Job has no supervisory responsibility.
