This is a high-impact role with direct influence on our product direction, scientific capabilities, and company growth. As a Bioinformatics Engineer at Bitscopic, you will develop the systems and pipelines that power clinical insights, analytics, and decision support—ultimately enabling safe, high-quality patient care. You will play a key role across the full product lifecycle, from early ideation and prototyping to production deployment and continuous delivery. Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders—including clinical partners, R&D, and commercial teams—you will translate complex biological and clinical requirements into scalable, reliable software solutions. Your work will directly impact patient outcomes across the country. At Bitscopic, you will help build technology that empowers physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals with actionable genomic insights to make more informed decisions. What you will do Draw from previous experience to build new, efficient, scalable genetic analysis pipelines for a wide variety of use cases - everything from epidemiological surveillance to precision medicine to genetics data sciences Advise on appropriate tools and technologies Help troubleshoot and support issues as they arise Be involved in building across the entire stack from the back-end, to APIs to front end user interfaces to deliver end-to-end solutions. What you bring to the team 5+ years of engineering experience with a good understanding of how to design robust and scalable genetic analysis pipelines. A team player mentality with a willingness to support existing products and codebases. Strong Python programming skills. Background with JS, Docker, database technologies (sqlite, MSSQL). A solid background in writing understandable, testable, and efficient Python. Working knowledge and experience with tools such as: IGV, mimimap, STAR, bcftools, samtools, gatk, ivar, Geneious, databases and knowledge sets such as gnomad, clinvar, UCSC data tracks, COSMIC, etc. Proficiency in unit testing, integration testing and continuous integration tools. Familiarity with relevant tools and technologies and have a drive to stay up-to-date with ongoing changes and advancements. Willingness and ability to take a deep dive into sequencing data, processes, technologies and provide meaningful insights and directions for our products Knowledge of sequencing technologies and wet lab processes and their ramifications on downstream analysis. Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts and ideas to other engineers and the ability to talk to customers. Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
