Sagan provides a high-performance remote work environment, ensuring access to world-class opportunities for top-tier professionals. About the Company: Sagan represents a leader in smart-locker device management and tracking technology. We specialize in building the hardware-to-software bridge that allows enterprise clients to manage, secure, and monitor their mobile device ecosystems through intelligent kiosks. We are a "business-first" engineering culture that prioritizes scalable, real-world solutions. Utilizing a modern tech stack focused on Spring Boot, SQL, and Power BI, we maintain an Agile-driven environment where global collaboration is at the heart of our operations. We value technical excellence, proactive communication, and a shared commitment to building seamless user experiences. Position Overview: The Software Engineer will join a small, agile Platform Integration team to build a "Greenfield" integration platform. This project is a critical company initiative designed to create a seamless, self-service capability for enterprise clients to ingest user management data into the company's kiosk system. The role focuses on building custom APIs and backend services to allow external systems to communicate effectively with internal records. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain backend services that integrate internal systems with client systems such as Active Directory, Okta, and other third-party APIs. Implement multi-tenant integrations, secure authentication/authorization flows, and high-volume data processing under the guidance of the Principal Software Engineer. Follow defined integration patterns, API contracts, data mapping strategies, and error-handling mechanisms. Collaborate closely with US-based product, engineering, QA, and Platform teams to deliver features aligned with business requirements. Adopt CIS backend best practices, coding standards, integration patterns, and system architecture guidelines. Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, performance bottlenecks, and service reliability problems. Contribute to documentation, including design specifications, API contracts, and implementation guides, to support maintainability and knowledge transfer. Participate in code reviews, learn architectural trade-offs, and grow expertise under mentorship from the Principal Software Engineer. Qualifications: 3–6 years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on backend development. Experience with Java (8+) and Spring Boot or similar backend frameworks. Familiarity with integrating with third-party APIs and handling data transformations. Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL or equivalent) and designing efficient backend data flows. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a focus on producing maintainable, high-quality code. Willingness to collaborate across time zones with US-based teams and learn from senior engineers. Nice-to-Haves: Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus. Understanding of authentication/authorization protocols such as OAuth, SAML, LDAP/Active Directory is preferred. Familiarity with event-driven systems, message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.), or workflow orchestration is a plus. Front end experience in modern frameworks/languages is a plus (React, Angular, Typescript). Job Type: Full-time Pay: $3,000.00 - $5,000.00 per month Work Location: Remote
