And that's where you come in: We are looking for an experienced, articulate, and passionate education technologist to become a Solutions Engineer (SE). The primary objective of this role is to partner with Account Executives to guide prospective customers in their evaluation of our Parchment Pathways, Parchment Award, and Parchment Digital Badging solution sets. Solutions Engineers are key technical advisors and product advocates, acting as the primary knowledge resource for the sales team. They must effectively communicate complex education and technology concepts to a variety of stakeholders, translating customer needs into tailored Parchment solutions. What you’ll do: Demonstrate Solutions: Deliver simple but engaging product demonstrations of Parchment’s suite of services for all verticals, including Higher Ed and K-12. Customer Discovery: Discover and analyze individual customer goals and challenges to map them back to the appropriate Parchment product. Technical Leadership: Lead in-depth technical discussions with IT experts regarding platform architecture, web services (REST/JSON), and systems integration. Solution Architecture: Identify or develop solutions to address unique technical requirements and thoughtfully consider alternatives to arrive at the best recommendations. Documentation & Proposals: Understand and document customer requirements to support successful implementation, and assist proposal managers with technical elements of RFI/RFP responses. Product Feedback: Partner with Product Management to provide early feedback on features to ensure alignment with customer expectations. Team Contribution: Leverage prior experience to help the sales team achieve goals through mentorship, recruiting, onboarding, and sales enablement activities. Collaborative Pursuit: Work across geographies and with distributed teams in pursuit of company objectives. What you will need to know/have: Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree required with proven academic technology and/or solutions engineering experience. Market Expertise: Experience in K-12 and/or Postsecondary education with expert fluency in the edtech market and SaaS business models. Technical Proficiency: Expert understanding of systems integration (LTI, APIs), XML/JSON, and relational databases. SIS Knowledge: Familiarity with Student Information Systems such as Oracle PeopleSoft, Ellucian, Workday, or PowerSchool. Tool Fluency: Proficiency in Salesforce, Responsive, and both Microsoft and Google Suites. Communication Skills: Articulate and compelling presentation skills with the ability to be both empathetic and firm regarding system capabilities. Professionalism: Organized, analytical, and self-motivated; able to handle a high volume of work and respond positively to feedback and coaching.
