Location & Eligibility Requirements: This is a 1099 independent contractor position requiring that all candidates must be United States citizens and able to successfully complete and maintain a Public Trust security clearance. This position can be based anywhere physically within the United States. This position will require periodic travel (up to 25%) for client meetings and work assignments. The candidate must be a US Citizen and is subject to a background check and unannounced drug testing requirements. Job Duties: Technical Support: Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues. Solution Development: Design and implement IT solutions that align with business goals, collaborating with senior engineers and stakeholders. System Maintenance: Maintain and monitor IT systems to ensure optimal performance and security. Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including system configurations, troubleshooting guides, and project plans. Project Participation: Contribute to IT projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new system implementations. User Training: Provide end-user support and training on new systems and technologies. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure successful delivery of IT solutions. Additional AWS Responsibilities: Provision, configure, and maintain AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, VPC) to ensure secure and scalable environments. Implement and use monitoring tools (e.g., Amazon CloudWatch, AWS X-Ray) to track system health, utilization, and performance metrics. Troubleshoot performance issues, identify bottlenecks, and proactively optimize systems. Enforce security best practices and policies (e.g., IAM roles, security groups, encryption) across AWS resources. Perform regular security assessments, audits, and compliance checks (e.g., AWS Security Hub, AWS Config). Develop and maintain scripts (e.g., using Python, Bash, or PowerShell) and AWS Lambda functions to automate repetitive tasks and workflows. Leverage AWS services (e.g., AWS Systems Manager) to streamline patching, backups, and maintenance operations. Monitor resource usage and spending through AWS Billing and Cost Management tools. Implement cost-saving strategies, such as right-sizing instances and optimizing data storage tiers. Education/Training, Qualifications, and Certifications: Must be a U.S. Citizen. Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field OR three years of equivalent work experience. Basic knowledge of IT infrastructure, including networking, cloud services, and system administration. Familiarity with scripting or programming languages, such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under supervision.
