Responsibilities Lead the Product Build: Build and manage a cross-functional engineering team responsible for connecting ApartmentIQ's rich market intelligence directly into Maven's generative content workflows. Modern Development Practices: Champion the use of AI-assisted tooling — from Claude Code to automated testing agents — to maintain high standards of quality and velocity. Automated Quality: Implement and refine automated code review pipelines that handle style nits, security checks, and pattern matching, ensuring human review time is spent on architecture and logic. Architect the Solution: Design end-to-end flows where real-time market data (Postgres/PostGIS) triggers specific actions (Social Posting/Availability Updates) via our AI models. Coach & Cultivate: Conduct regular 1:1s, fostering a culture of psychological safety, technical rigor, and "don't repeat yourself" automation. Full Stack Ownership: Guide the evolution of our unified interface (React + Tailwind) and the API layer (Rails 7) that powers it. Operational Excellence: Partner with Data Science to ensure data freshness and accuracy — renters rely on this data being correct, so our pipelines must be robust. Manage the Process: Collaborate with Product on roadmap planning in Linear, ensuring we are breaking down complex integration problems into shippable wins. Qualifications 7+ years of experience shipping data-intensive B2B SaaS, with 2+ years in a Lead or Manager role. Rails & React Expertise: Deep experience with Ruby on Rails, Sidekiq, and modern React/Tailwind frontends. You know how to build systems that scale. AI-Curious & Tool-Savvy: You see AI-assisted development as a natural evolution of how great software gets built. You have experience (or a genuine enthusiasm) for workflows where AI handles testing and first-pass code reviews. Data Fluency: Proficiency with data storage patterns and an understanding of data ingestion workflows. Pragmatic Agility: You are comfortable writing specs in Linear one hour and debugging a background job the next. You value shipping working code over theoretical perfection.
