An initial assignment will focus on assisting with the modification of legacy web forms to achieve consistent rendering across modern browsers. Later, this professional will lead the creation of high-fidelity UI prototypes for an enterprise transportation-focused project/program management platform. UI/UX & Front-end Anticipated initial projects include: Collaborate with existing staff to modernize web-based forms, fixing HTML/CSS/JavaScript so forms render consistently in Edge as formerly rendered in IE or Edge IE mode. Design and deliver high-fidelity UI prototypes that demonstrate major screen types, data entry, inquiry/search, and administrative functionality, leveraging modern patterns and ensuring ADA compliance. Prototypes should include features such as single sign-on, dashboards, and input validation. Contribute to UI/UX standards and style guides; document design decisions to inform further development. Apply responsive design techniques and test across browsers to ensure compatibility. Collaborate with designers and stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure prototypes align with business workflows and performance expectations. Full stack & Microsoft platform Additional future assignments could include: Develop server-side components, APIs, and business logic using C#, ASP.NET and related technologies, following industry best practices. Design and implement data access layers and ETL processes using SQL Server, T-SQL, and SSIS; assist with data migration and performance optimization. Build REST/JSON and/or SOAP-based Web APIs and integrate third-party services with proper security (e.g., OAuth2, SSL). Implement proven design patterns like MVC/MVVM. Participate in Agile/Scrum methodology, including daily stand-ups and sprint reviews. After the prototyping phase, support ongoing or future projects across UI/UX, API design, data migration, and legacy modernization initiatives. Minimum Qualifications 8+ years of professional development experience. Advanced Front-end Skills - proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern frameworks (e.g., Angular, React, or similar). Experience debugging cross-browser issues. UI/UX Prototyping Expertise - ability to create clickable prototypes that demonstrate layout, navigation, accessibility, and performance expectations. Microsoft Tech Stack Experience - proven background in C#, ASP.NET, .NET frameworks, SQL Server, and T-SQL. Experience with SSIS/ETL and designing stored procedures, functions, and triggers. Experience developing Web APIs (REST/JSON and SOAP) and working with authentication/authorization protocols such as OAuth2. Version Control and DevOps Proficiency - familiarity with Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, Git/TFS, and CI/CD tools. Design Patterns & Testing - ability to architect solutions using MVC/MVVM patterns and practice TDD/BDD.
