The Sortie Ops Platform will be the command center for FAA Part 135 air operators, maritime ferry services, and the ground transport that connects them. It handles reservations, freight tracking, flight following, and analytics. It provides seamless integrations, smart automation, and real-time insights. We are a 3-person, venture-backed startup with an experienced founding team (ex-Spotify, 2x exits). One of the founders owns an FAA Part 135 operation. About The role We are at the 'zero-to-one' stage. Our core architecture is live with a launch customer, and you will be joining just in time to shape the platform for our 2026 market expansion. We are looking for 3 Software Engineers (Backend) to join our team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to have an outsized impact and ship features that matter. Responsibilities Backend Development Own features from ideation to deployment, working closely with our launch customer to ensure our solutions solve real-world operational chaos. Build systems to accurately coordinate logistics across air, land, and sea vehicles. Collaboration Collaborate with the founders and other engineers. Work directly with customers during incidents and to troubleshoot bugs. Operations Manage deployments, monitor services, and track bugs. Join the on-call rotation of 1 week every 5-6 weeks. Requirements Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience. Experience in high growth startups or building complex distributed systems. Demonstrated ability to solve problems independently. Available during core hours: 12-4PM US Eastern Time. Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
