Job Summary

Senior Web Developer

Founded in 2008, OPTiMO is an experienced consulting firm specializing in world-class, enterprise-level application development, system integration and digital design. We support a client base spanning the public and private sector, and we strive for excellence both in our design work and in the service to our clients.

We are looking to add a Senior Web Developer to our team who is excited by the opportunity to be a true partner with UI and UX design specialists and has built public-facing applications that serve (at least) thousands of daily active users.

Requirements:

1. US Citizen

2. Ability to obtain a US government clearance

3. At least five (5) years of work experience as a Web software developer

4. Strong WordPress/PHP/MySQL experience

5. Accessibility expertise

6. Front-end and scripting skills (HTML/CSS/JS, Java, Python, etc.)

7. Ability to lead technical implementation and architecture

8. Experience with building front-end user interfaces using a variety of frameworks and traditional techniques.

9. Knowledge of responsive design and its application

10. Understanding of accessibility standards and experience implementing compliant interfaces

11. Supporting client digital transformation, including:

a. Working together with project/program leaders and designers to help clients through fear and uncertainty to champion adoption of modern stacks.

b. Experience with managing technical debt.

c. Ability to develop and propose solutions to incompletely defined problems

d. Experience working in a team where you are the sole developer, including

i. Understanding of testing and reproducibility

ii. Understanding of how to structure your code for automated builds

iii. Consistently estimating levels of effort and technical tradeoffs

iv. Code reviews

v. Agile methodology – timeboxing, sprints

vi. Understanding integrating with third party systems

vii. Basic database/query language understanding

viii. Web services

Helpful Experience:

1. Time as a consultant and serving as key personnel on a government contract

2. Integrating UIs with content management systems

3. SEO/website analytics tools (using, designing for)

4. API integration

5. SSO restricted environments
