In this role, you’ll take ownership of complex technical challenges, lead hands‑on development across PHP and Java services, and influence long‑term engineering direction across multiple teams. You’ll work closely with product, infrastructure, and engineering leadership to design scalable solutions, strengthen patterns and practices, and ensure we’re building systems that are robust, efficient, and ready for future growth.   As a member of our team, you will enjoy a collaborative, supportive work environment and be part of a dynamic group that values ownership, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement. We offer strong opportunities for technical growth, leadership, and meaningful impact for those who bring dedication and excellence.   Responsibilities:   Design, build, and maintain high‑performance, scalable backend applications and distributed services using PHP and Java, ensuring reliability, observability, and long‑term maintainability. Architect, implement, and optimize RESTful APIs that power internal platforms and external integrations, with a strong focus on resiliency, security, and performance. Model, refine, and optimize SQL database schemas, queries, and relational data structures to support growing system demands and ensure efficient data access patterns. Lead hands‑on development efforts across multiple initiatives, providing mentorship, conducting technical deep‑dives, and guiding engineering decisions for both immediate needs and long‑term roadmap goals. Leverage modern AI‑assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate delivery while enforcing high standards around code quality, correctness, and maintainability. Deep expertise in PHP (Laravel or comparable frameworks) and strong proficiency with Java (Spring Boot or equivalent), with experience designing complex backend systems in both ecosystems. Proven ability to design, implement, scale, and optimize RESTful APIs and service‑oriented architectures. Strong background in SQL relational databases—including schema design, query optimization, indexing strategies, and performance tuning. Experience leading small engineering teams, serving as a technical lead, or driving large technical initiatives from design through delivery. Hands‑on experience with AI‑assisted coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, etc.), including the ability to evaluate and harden AI‑generated output. Experience working within Agile development environments, contributing to sprint planning, backlog refinement, and cross‑team coordination. Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non‑technical audiences and influence decision‑making across teams.
