Job Description: About the Role:
ZONTAL is building cloud-based scientific data management solutions to streamline lab operations and accelerate research outcomes. Our mission is to speed up science through better software, data connectivity, and AI readiness.

As a Senior DevOps engineer, you will leverage your cloud expertise and DevOps skills to lead CI/CD deployment and scale ZONTAL’s data management platform and services/applications. You are someone who thrives in a start-up and scale-up environment, with proven hands-on experience in the AWS service stack. You bring a customer-first attitude to your work, and you aim to deliver superlative results on a consistent basis. You are proactive and love solving problems. You bring strong collaboration and excellent communication skills.

What You’ll Do
Deploy, upgrade, and maintain ZONTAL platform environments
Keep AWS-based production systems healthy, stable, and secure
Resolve customer issues proactively and serve as a trusted technical partner
Participate in incidents, escalations, RCA/CAPA, and high‑impact resolutions
Automate operational tasks through scripting
Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams on scalable cloud solutions
Contribute to knowledge bases and support portals
Support L2/L3 service desk workflows
Assist in Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning
What You Bring
4+ years with AWS cloud technologies and SaaS platforms
Deep AWS stack expertise (EC2, S3, IAM, Lambda, ALB/NLB, RDS, DocumentDB, EKS, etc.)
Proficiency with Python, PowerShell, JavaScript or Java, and SQL scripting
Experience with Support ticketing systems and ITSM tools (e.g. Freshworks, JIRA Service Management)
Strong troubleshooting skills across systems, integrations, and data flows
Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes (EKS), Karpenter, Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation, and CI/CD practices and tools including Git, Helm, GitOps/ArgoCD, etc.
Excellent communication, customer empathy, and cross-team collaboration
ITIL certification (preferred)
