JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY This role serves as a technical authority and will help guide the implementation of software and data development in complex systems. Responsible for overseeing multiple projects across various development units, this position will engage in all facets of development including data management, application structure, software development, and business design. Providing expertise to staff on intricate tasks, this role will also mentor team members in emerging technologies. Their duties extend beyond mere coding and troubleshooting; they will collaborate extensively with Staff Software Architects to craft the digital frameworks that underpin our software offerings.  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and implement high-quality software and data products in line with company goals. Develop and maintain architectural blueprints and oversee the deployment of large-scale software and data solutions, ensuring alignment with business needs and objectives. Provide technical direction and strategy, setting the standards and methodologies to be used in system design and development. Work closely with software developers, stakeholders, and other architects to ensure software and data solutions are effectively integrated and meet specified requirements. Continuously evaluate existing systems to identify areas of improvement, then design and oversee the implementation of these improvements. Keep abreast of the latest technologies and tools in the market, incorporating new technologies when and where they add strategic value. Translate complex technical details into understandable terms for stakeholders, ensuring clarity on architectural decisions and strategies. Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to development teams on architectural best practices and new technologies. Identify potential risks in system designs and propose alternative solutions. Ensure smooth integration of new software and data solutions with existing systems and infrastructure. Develop detailed architectural documentation and diagrams, establishing a clear record of system design and evolution for future reference. PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering, or a related field. 5-7 years of experience Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and managing cloud resources using infrastructure-as-code with CloudFormation, Terraform, or Pulumi. Proficiency in multiple programming languages, such as Python, TypeScript, Go, JavaScript, etc. Extensive experience with relational (e.g., SQL) and non-relational (e.g., NoSQL) databases. Experience with data warehousing in Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery, etc. Hands-on experience with ETL and data integration concepts using SnapLogic, SSIS, AWS Glue, AWS Database Migration Service, etc. Experience creating data reports in Looker, SSRS, AWS QuickSight, etc. Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Data Analyst, or related certifications, can be an added advantage. d Experience with serverless and containerized technologies. Familiarity with DevSecOps principles, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Travis CI. Understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices. Experience designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful or GraphQL APIs. Possess a thorough understanding of the HTTP/HTTPS and other web protocols. Knowledge of both front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue) and back-end development. Familiarity with agile methodologies like Scrum or Kanban. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with an ability to think critically. Excellent communication skills to articulate technical decisions and collaborate with non-technical stakeholders. Knowledge of secure coding practices and familiarity with security frameworks and standards. Willingness to stay updated with the latest in technology trends and continuously enhance skills through earning industry certifications.
