Job Description: We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to support a major modernization initiative within the international money transfer domain of Online Banking and a Banking App. The project focuses on modernizing backend systems to ensure scalability, reliability, and long-term competitiveness of international payment processing. You will work on cloud-native, distributed systems handling high-availability financial transactions. This is a highly technical role requiring strong expertise in Spring Boot, Java, microservices, and DevSecOps practices. The position suits engineers comfortable operating in regulated financial environments with high quality and security standards.

Project Scope
Modernization of international transfer processes in Online Banking and the Banking App to ensure future viability and competitiveness of cross-border payment services within a cooperative financial group.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain backend components for international payment transfers
Design technical concepts and solutions for modernization initiatives
Work on distributed, highly available cloud-based systems
Conduct and participate in code reviews
Abstract and simplify complex legacy system processes
Guide and mentor team members while promoting knowledge sharing
Contribute to DevSecOps practices and secure microservice design

Required Skills
Several years of experience as a Backend Engineer in cloud environments
Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot
Experience with distributed, highly available systems
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes or OpenShift
Experience with Kafka
Familiarity with GitLab, Jira, Confluence
Strong knowledge of REST microservice architecture
Understanding of DevSecOps principles
Strong analytical thinking and high quality standards
Ability to work independently
