Job Title: Senior AI Engineer Company Name: StrataEdge.AI Job Url: https://strataedge.betterteam.com/ai-software-and-data-engineer Job Description: AI Software and Data Engineer Remote•United States•Full-time $150,000 - $250,000 annually Apply About the Job StrataEdge.AI is an innovative AI company founded by former Fortune 100 CTOs and data leaders, building production-grade AI agents that automate complex back-office operations in insurance, financial and consulting services. Our flagship solutions — built natively on Snowflake Cortex and AWS — read unstructured documents (policies, claims, legal files, loss runs, bordereaux), extract key entities, perform cross-document reconciliation, run financial validations (premiums, reserves, reinsurance recoveries), and deliver 99%+ accuracy with full explainability. We turn weeks of manual audit and ops work into hours of supervised automation, and we’re expanding rapidly to new verticals. We’re a small, high-velocity team obsessed with solving real customer pain at scale. We ship fast, iterate relentlessly, and measure success by how much time and money we save our clients. The Role: We’re looking for a Senior AI Engineer (8–12+ years of hands-on engineering experience) who lives for solving hard, ambiguous problems and gets deep satisfaction from building solutions that customers genuinely love. You’ll own end-to-end features: from designing agent architectures and prompt chains to building robust ingestion pipelines, fine-tuning LLMs on domain-specific data, implementing human-in-the-loop feedback loops, and creating intuitive UIs (Streamlit / React) that make powerful AI feel simple and trustworthy. What You’ll Do: Design and implement multi-step AI agent pipelines using Snowflake Cortex LLMs, vector search, and structured extraction (chain-of-thought, ReAct, tool use). Build reliable document ingestion from SharePoint, email, PDFs, scanned images — handling OCR, layout-aware parsing, and entity resolution. Own accuracy & explainability: create evaluation frameworks, run red-teaming, fine-tune on client data, and maintain traceable reasoning logs for audit/compliance use cases. Collaborate closely with insurance domain experts to translate messy real-world problems (e.g., mismatched reinsurance recoveries, inadequate reserves) into reliable, production-grade automation. Ship features end-to-end: backend logic, agent orchestration, API integrations, and clean, customer-facing UIs. Help define our engineering culture: code reviews, testing strategy, CI/CD, observability. You Are: A strong, full-stack problem solver who loves engineering craft — clean code, thoughtful architecture, and pragmatic trade-offs. Passionate about building products customers actually use and love (you get excited when a client says “this just saved us 3 days a week”). 8–12+ years building production systems (Python strongly preferred; experience with LLMs / agent frameworks a big plus). Deep comfort with cloud-native data platforms (Snowflake experience highly valued; Databricks, BigQuery, or similar also great). Experience shipping LLM-powered applications (prompt engineering, RAG, fine-tuning, evaluation harnesses). Obsessed with reliability, explainability, and audit-grade accuracy in regulated domains. Collaborative, humble, and excited to work in a small team where your voice matters. Nice-to-Haves: Insurance or financial services domain knowledge (premiums, claims, reserving, reinsurance, bordereaux, SOX audits). Experience with Streamlit, FastAPI, LangChain/LlamaIndex, or similar agent orchestration tools. Data engineering experience. Prior work in regulated industries (insurance, banking, healthcare). What We Offer: Competitive salary + meaningful equity in a fast-growing startup. Remote-first (with occasional in-person collaboration in Northern Virginia and San Francisco). Full health, dental, vision, 401(k) match. Unlimited PTO + flexible hours. Work directly with ex-GEICO, Citi, Capital One, Microsoft leaders who have built and scaled massive systems. Real impact: our agents are already live and saving clients millions in time and leakage. If you’re the kind of engineer who gets a thrill from turning unstructured chaos into precise, customer-loved automation — and you want to help shape the future of AI in insurance — we’d love to talk.
