Job Title: Product Developer Company Name: KaiPod Learning Job Url: https://www.ycombinator.com/companies/kaipod-learning/jobs/P1ybRAq-engineer?utm_source=syn_li Job Description: About the role OUR PRODUCT KaiPod Newton is the platform powering a new era of education, where learning is personalized and schools are designed and led by educators. Built specifically for microschools, Newton gives founders the tools they need to confidently launch, operate, and grow their programs. Our software is rapidly becoming the infrastructure layer for the microschooling movement. In just 18 months, Newton has become the most widely used software platform in the microschool sector and is on track to shape how millions of students experience school in the years to come. WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR You are a product developer who can take an idea and own it from idea to deployment. You speak to customers and understand how to turn their feedback into actionable items. You take an existing component library and build new features without waiting for perfectly crafted designs. You are truly full stack and can build for both front and backend. OUR ENGINEERING CULTURE We're a small, growing team built on flat structure and a bias for speed. We use LLMs liberally but know when to pause and code ourselves. We work together in a shared video channel, celebrate wins openly, and leave egos at the door. We move fast, adapt readily, and know the difference between a good pivot and a shiny object. WHY YOU SHOULD WORK HERE You'll personally ship features real users depend on, explore freely across projects without being siloed, and join a collaborative team that genuinely supports one another. We're experimenting and building incredibly interesting features to help teachers educate the next generation of students. OUR TECH STACK Ruby on Rails Hotwire Native Postgres Redis About KaiPod Learning KaiPod Learning is the nation’s fastest growing network of microschools. We believe in a new education model that is personalized, flexible, and built around students, not systems. The traditional one-size-fits-all model is broken, and we are here to replace it with something radically better. We power a fast-growing network of in-person microschools, giving families across the country access to high-quality, small-group learning environments. Behind the scenes, our tech platform is the engine that drives everything: academics, communication, student progress, school operations — and soon, much more. We’re not here to make incremental change. We are building the infrastructure for a new category of education. That takes vision, speed, and a team unafraid to challenge the status quo. We are backed by YCombinator, Reach Capital, and several other top venture firms.
