Overview We are hiring a mobile-first application engineer to build and own a React Native (Expo) application that complements our existing web platform. Mobile is the primary focus, but this is not a siloed role. We are a startup and engineering work overlaps. The engineer will contribute across the stack when needed — particularly on the web application (React/TypeScript). Backend (Python) involvement is less frequent but familiarity is valuable. Your profile We are looking for a strong engineer with experience building and shipping modern applications. Senior engineering judgment and production ownership matter more than narrow framework tenure. Core Responsibilities Architect and build a React Native application using Expo Implement reliable push notification handling and production-grade mobile behaviors Integrate with existing backend APIs and collaborate on API improvements Own App Store deployment and release management Monitor production health (crashes, runtime issues, notification reliability) Contribute to the web application (React / TypeScript) as needed Help shape application architecture and engineering standards across the product Technical Requirements (Must Have) Strong TypeScript proficiency Experience building and shipping production-grade applications (mobile required) Experience working with React (web and/or native) Experience implementing push notifications in a production mobile app Solid understanding of application architecture, state management, and frontend best practices Demonstrated ownership of production systems (monitoring, debugging, release management) React Native experience is strongly preferred, but not strictly required for senior engineers who have shipped mobile applications and have strong React/TypeScript foundations.
