Job summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Microsoft SQL Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in writing complex SQL queries, designing and developing stored procedures, and creating SSIS packages. Additionally, the candidate will contribute to the design and implementation of new data warehouse solutions to support business intelligence and data analysis initiatives.



Key Responsibilities:

1. SQL Query Development:

- Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries to support various business requirements.

- Ensure queries are efficient, accurate, and adhere to best practices for database performance.

2. Stored Procedures and Functions:

- Design, develop, and maintain stored procedures, functions, and triggers to automate data processing tasks.

- Collaborate with business analysts and application developers to implement solutions.

3. SSIS Package Development:

- Develop and maintain SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages for ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.

- Schedule, monitor, and troubleshoot SSIS package executions.

4. Data Warehouse Design and Development:

- Participate in the design and implementation of data warehouse architectures.

- Develop and maintain ETL processes to populate the data warehouse.

5. Performance Tuning:

- Analyze and optimize database performance by identifying and resolving bottlenecks.

- Implement indexing, partitioning, and other performance-enhancing techniques.

6. Data Integrity and Security:

- Ensure data integrity and security by implementing appropriate database constraints and security measures.

- Regularly review and update database security settings.

7. Documentation and Training:

- Create and maintain technical documentation for database systems and processes.

- Provide training and support to other team members on database-related topics.

8. Collaboration and Support:

- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data analysts, software developers, and business stakeholders, to understand and meet their data needs.

- Provide support for database-related issues and troubleshooting.

Requirements
Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- 3+ years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server development.

- Proficiency in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries.

- Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) package development.

- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.

- Knowledge of database performance tuning and optimization techniques.

- Familiarity with data security and integrity best practices.

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with cloud-based data warehousing solutions like Azure SQL Data Warehouse.
Experience in SQL Server administration, including backup, recovery, and security.
Understanding and application of best practices for the software development process lifecycle.
Experience with Agile development methodologies.
