This role is responsible for designing, deploying, maintaining, and optimizing secure, scalable Azure environments that support enterprise and mission-critical systems. The ideal candidate will have practical experience with Azure infrastructure services, Windows Server administration, Active Directory, Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), and hybrid cloud environments. This position also requires familiarity with system hardening practices aligned with STIGs or CIS Benchmarks, endpoint management through Microsoft Intune, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for consistent and repeatable deployments. Key Responsibilities Design, deploy, manage, and support Azure cloud environments, including virtual networks, compute resources, storage, and hybrid connectivity. Administer Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy across on-premises and cloud-hosted environments. Configure, deploy, and support Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments for enterprise users and shared workloads. Implement system and cloud hardening in accordance with DoD STIGs, CIS Benchmarks, and security best practices. Automate provisioning, configuration, and maintenance activities using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, PowerShell DSC, or ARM templates. Use Microsoft Intune and Azure services to enroll, configure, secure, and manage physical and hybrid devices. Manage Azure networking components, including VPN gateways, Network Security Groups (NSGs), firewalls, routing, and private endpoints. Monitor Azure resource performance, security posture, and cost efficiency using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Microsoft Defender for Cloud. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Azure services, identity, networking, virtual machines, endpoint management, and hybrid connectivity. Support identity and access management processes, including user provisioning, access control, credential updates, and hybrid identity synchronization. Develop and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, standard operating procedures, and configuration baselines. Collaborate with infrastructure, cybersecurity, and system owner teams to ensure reliability, compliance, and operational effectiveness across environments. Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
