Lead Backend / Platform Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a Lead Backend/Platform Engineer to help design and build the core systems that power our platform. In this role, you will architect and implement scalable backend services, build robust APIs, and ensure our systems perform reliably in production cloud environments.

This position is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, building production-ready systems, and influencing engineering standards across a development team.

Knowledge/Responsibilities

● Design and implement scalable, reliable backend systems - from architecture

through production deployment.

● Harden and optimize the platform for stability, performance, and release readiness.

● Lead implementation of backend services, APIs, and data models with a strong

focus on maintainability strategies.

● Strong experience in data modeling and working on No SQL database like MongoDB as we heavily use MongoDB.

● Set technical standards and establish best practices across code quality,

architecture, and system design.

● Act as a hands-on technical leader reviewing code, debugging complex issues,

and improving performance where needed.

● Collaborate closely with Product, QA, and Design to translate business problems

into well-structured technical solutions.

● Hands on experience with ability to utilize AI for development and analysis.

● Ask the right technical questions early to clarify requirements and reduce

downstream risk.

● Help define engineering roadmaps, technical milestones, and delivery metrics.

● Improve development workflows and processes to increase team velocity and

reliability.

Qualifications:

● 10+ years of professional backend engineering experience building production

systems.

● Proven experience designing and implementing complex software systems

end-to-end.

● Understands Database Modeling, managing complex Database Transactions, and

ensuring data integrity across distributed systems.

● Strong experience with API design.

● Deep knowledge of data modeling, normalization, query optimization, and

indexing.

● STRONG Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.

● Experience building REST and/or GraphQL services.

● Strong proficiency in a modern backend language (Node.js preferred).

● Experience shipping highly reliable systems in cloud environments.

● Ability to operate independently while contributing to broader technical direction.

● Experience working across cross-functional teams to deliver complex product

features.
