We are seeking a highly skilled Editorial Production Automation Engineer to join our dynamic

Duties and Responsibilities:

This role will involve:

creating custom scripts and toolsthat automate key production processes, including but not limited

to Adobe InDesign file generation, image manipulation, HTML creation, and data handling with

Design, develop, and maintain automation scripts and tools for Adobe InDesign workflows, using ExtendScript, Adobe UXP, and other relevant technologies.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Structuring Content.
o Batch image manipulation and optimization

o Generation of HTML, JSON, and XML outputs

Design, develop, and maintain automation scripts and tools for Adobe InDesign workflows,
Collaborate with editorial, design, and production teams to understand workflow pain points and opportunities for automation.
Automate production processessuch as:
o Creation of InDesign (INDD) files

o Batch image manipulation and optimization

o Generation of HTML, JSON and XML outputs

Stay up-to-date with new Adobe technologies (e.g., UXP, ExtendScript updates) and industry trends related to automation.
Collaborate with editorial, design, and production teams to understand workflow pain points

Implement solutions for structured content workflows, including DITA XML or other content formats.
*Job Requirements/Skills and Experience:*

Develop and support toolsthat facilitate seamless exchange of data between InDesign, XML,
Expert knowledge of ExtendScript for Adobe InDesign automation.
Ensure that automated solutions integrate smoothly into existing production pipelines and
Familiarity with DITA XML or other structured authoring frameworks a plus.
Familiarity with CMI5, QTI, SCORM and other learning content delivery formats a plus.
Stay up-to-date with new Adobe technologies (e.g., UXP, ExtendScript updates) and industry
Problem-solving mindset with the ability to translate production needs into robust automation.
Assist with exploratory projects involving Node.js, Python, and other programming tools for
broader workflow solutions.

Additional Job Requirements/Skills and Experience:

Expert in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Adobe InDesign.
Expert knowledge of ExtendScript for Adobe InDesign automation.
Strong proficiency in XML, including the ability to work with structured and semi-structured
XML data.

Familiarity with DITA XML or other structured authoring frameworks a plus.
Familiarity with CMI5, QTI, SCORM and other learning content delivery formats a plus.
Experience developing scripts and tools that automate editorial and production processes.
Problem solving mindset with the ability to translate production needs into robust
automation.
