Sequencer is an AI-powered creative platform bringing professional-grade generative tools (image, video, audio, and beyond) to creators and studios. We're an early-stage startup building the definitive toolset for AI filmmaking.

We move fast, ship daily, and are looking for someone who does the same.

The Role

We're hiring our first engineer. You'll work directly alongside the founder, owning features end-to-end and shipping code that real users interact with immediately. You'll have significant latitude to make decisions, propose ideas, and shape the direction of the product from day one.

What You'll Work On

Frontend: React Native Web (Expo Router, NativeWind/Tailwind, Zustand, Reanimated, Radix UI). You'll build rich, interactive experiences including canvas editors, media generation feeds, node-based workflow builders, and more.

Backend: Firebase (Cloud Functions v2, Firestore, Cloud Storage, Authentication) and Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Run). You'll integrate third-party AI APIs and build reliable, scalable generation pipelines.

AI Tooling: We expect you to use AI coding assistants (Antigravity, Cursor, Claude, etc.) as a core part of your workflow. We treat these as genuine productivity multipliers, not novelties.

Requirements

React Native: Production experience with React Native (ideally React Native Web). You understand the nuances.
Firebase / GCP: Hands-on experience with Firebase services (Firestore, Auth, Functions, Storage) or Google Cloud Platform.
TypeScript: Our entire codebase is TypeScript. You should be comfortable and productive with it.
Self-motivated and autonomous: You don't wait for a standup to start working. You identify problems, propose solutions, and see them through.
Works well under pressure: We're an early-stage startup. The pace is fast and the stakes are real. We need someone who matches that energy.
Side projects: Show us what you've built outside of work. Personal projects, open-source contributions, weekend experiments. We value these more than your resume.
U.S. work authorization required: You must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
