Job Description: About the Role:
Form Health is building a clinical-grade care platform that powers longitudinal obesity and cardiometabolic treatment at national scale. The software we build directly impacts how clinicians deliver care, how teams coordinate work, and how patients experience safe, effective treatment. We’re hiring a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead a small (but growing) team responsible for delivering high-impact systems that support clinical workflows, operational tooling, and intelligent care delivery. In this role, you will combine strong people leadership with technical depth. You’ll guide engineers working on complex, safety-sensitive systems—ensuring reliable execution, thoughtful architecture, and incremental delivery in a regulated healthcare environment. This role will report into our Senior Director of Software Engineering, but will partner closely with product, clinical, and operational leaders to translate evolving care needs into scalable software. 

This is a fully remote role open to candidates located anywhere in the United States.

What you will do:
Team Leadership & Execution
Lead, coach, and grow a small team (2-3 people initially) of engineers delivering business-critical clinical and operational systems
Establish clear goals and execution plans aligned with product and company priorities
Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement
Provide direct feedback, mentorship, and career development for engineers at multiple levels
Hire thoughtfully to strengthen team capability and long-term scalability
Technical Leadership
Guide architectural decisions for backend services, workflows, integrations, and internal tools
Partner closely with Staff engineers to ensure systems are reliable, scalable, secure, and maintainable
Maintain strong technical fluency across systems built with technologies such as Ruby on Rails, Node.js, GraphQL, React / Next.js, and AWS-based infrastructure
Ensure healthy CI/CD pipelines and safe deployment practices that support incremental delivery
Identify technical risks early and lead mitigation strategies before they impact care delivery
Clinical Workflow & Intelligent Systems

Oversee development of systems that support clinical charting, scheduling, task management, care coordination, automation, and intelligent workflow enhancements
Ensure systems operate safely within healthcare constraints and regulatory requirements
Support thoughtful integration of automation and AI capabilities where appropriate, always prioritizing human oversight and patient safety
Cross-Functional Partnership
Partner closely with product, clinical, and operations leaders to define roadmaps and deliver measurable impact
Translate complex, evolving business and clinical requirements into clear engineering plans
Provide structure and clarity in ambiguous problem spaces
Balance speed of delivery with operational reliability and long-term platform health
About You
You are an experienced engineering leader who blends hands-on technical depth with strong people leadership. You’ve managed high-performing teams and guided engineers through the delivery of complex, production-grade systems.

You bring experience such as:

5+ years of experience managing engineering teams
Prior experience as a senior or staff-level engineer before moving into management
Leading delivery of complex backend or workflow-heavy systems in production
Operating in fast-moving or high-growth environments where priorities evolve
Establishing strong engineering practices around incremental delivery, feature flags, testing, and operational excellence
Partnering closely with product and domain experts to shape execution plans
Communicating effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders
Encouraging teams to thoughtfully leverage AI-powered developer tools to improve productivity while maintaining strong engineering rigor
Experience in healthcare, clinical systems, workflow tooling, AI-enabled products, or other regulated domains is a strong plus, but not required

Base Annual Salary
$160,000—$180,000 USD
