Our flagship product, PlotStudio AI, is a desktop analytics platform where specialized AI agents collaborate through a multi-stage pipeline to deliver the kind of analysis a senior data scientist would produce — complete with code, visualizations, statistical rigor, and executive-grade narrative. Think Cursor, but for data analytics. We've been growing the engineering team to scale PlotStudio into the go-to platform for agentic data analysis. Product: https://www.plotstudio.ai/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/ar5-labs/ ABOUT THE ROLE We're hiring a Data Engineer to own and build out the data integration layer of PlotStudio AI. Right now, users bring data into PlotStudio via CSV upload. That works — but our users' data lives in warehouses, databases, and SaaS tools. We need someone to bridge that gap by building direct connectors so users can plug in their existing data sources and let our AI agents go to work immediately. This is a foundational role. You'll be the first person dedicated to data connectivity, which means you'll shape the architecture, pick the tools, and set the standards for how PlotStudio talks to the outside data world. Success in this role looks like: PlotStudio users can connect to their Snowflake warehouse, their PostgreSQL database, or their HubSpot account in minutes — and the data flows reliably into our agentic analysis pipeline without friction. You'll report directly to the founder and work closely with the AI/ML team that builds our 19-agent analytical assembly line. RESPONSIBILITIES Design and build production-ready connectors to major data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks) Develop integrations with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB) Build and maintain API integrations with common SaaS platforms (HubSpot, Salesforce, Stripe, Google Analytics, Shopify, and others) Develop ETL/ELT pipelines for ingesting, validating, and transforming data from external sources into formats our AI agents can analyze Define data schemas, validation rules, and error handling strategies for diverse and unpredictable data sources Implement secure authentication flows (OAuth 2.0, API keys, service accounts) for third-party data connections Collaborate with the AI/ML team to ensure ingested data integrates cleanly with PlotStudio's data profiling, cleaning, and analysis pipeline Optimize connector performance for large datasets, including incremental syncs and query pushdown where applicable Write technical documentation for connector APIs and integration patterns QUALIFICATIONS Required: 2+ years of experience in data engineering, backend engineering, or a similar role focused on data systems Strong proficiency in Python and SQL Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud data warehouse (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or Databricks) Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools and frameworks (dbt, Airflow, Fivetran, or similar) Experience building and consuming REST APIs and working with third-party API documentation Solid understanding of data modeling, schema design, and data quality practices Comfortable working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) Clear written and verbal communication skills — you can explain technical decisions to non-technical teammates Nice to have: Experience with Electron or desktop application architectures Familiarity with real-time data streaming tools (Kafka, Spark Streaming) Experience implementing OAuth 2.0 flows and managing third-party API authentication securely Exposure to LLMs, AI-powered applications, or agentic AI systems Contributions to open-source data tools or connector frameworks WHY JOIN NOW We just closed funding — you're joining at the ground floor with equity and the resources to build You'll own the entire data integration layer from day one — no inherited tech debt, no legacy systems PlotStudio is solving a real problem for real users: teams that have data but no data team Small team, high autonomy, direct impact on the product HOW TO APPLY Follow our LinkedIn page and DM us directly with: 1.
