This Chicago-based software company focuses on digital workspace management and desktop transformation for enterprise organizations. Their platform helps IT teams manage, monitor, and optimize physical, virtual, and cloud-based Windows environments, supporting technologies such as Azure Virtual Desktop, Citrix, VMware, and Amazon WorkSpaces. They build platform-agnostic solutions that improve performance visibility, streamline IT operations, and enhance end-user experience at scale.
They are seeking a Backend .NET Engineer to help modernize and migrate a legacy application into a modern .NET-based architecture. This role will play a key part in building scalable backend services that support enterprise customers and mission-critical Windows-based environments.

You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy backend systems in Azure while contributing to modernization efforts and long-term platform stability.

Required Skills & Experience
Strong experience with C# and modern .NET 6+
Experience building backend services and APIs
Experience working with C++ and Windows applications
Hands-on experience with NoSQL databases
Cloud experience with Microsoft Azure
Familiarity with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
Experience working on B2B software products for large enterprise customers
Understanding of Windows-based systems and APIs
Preferred Skills & Experience 
Experience migrating desktop applications to modern web-based architectures
Exposure to legacy system modernization initiatives
Prior experience in platform or infrastructure-focused products
What You Will Be Doing Tech Breakdown:
20% maintenance
80% new development
Daily Responsibilities: 

Migrate and modernize legacy applications into a modern .NET environment
Design and build backend services and APIs supporting enterprise B2B software
Work with NoSQL databases and cloud-native Azure services
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
Collaborate with product, frontend, and infrastructure teams to deliver scalable solutions
Support Windows-based integrations, including Windows APIs

Chicago, IL
Candidates local to Chicago require 2 days onsite
100% remote for the right candidate
