About the role As an AWS Systems Administrator, you will manage and maintain cloud infrastructure within Amazon Web Services (AWS), ensuring critical systems remain secure, resilient, and highly available while supporting application development and deployment efforts. In this role, you will support the Veteran Affairs (VA) and Department of Defense (DoD) Identity Repository (VADIR), a mission-critical system that delivers military history data to enable eligibility determination, benefits administration, and service delivery across VA. We are seeking a candidate with a positive, proactive approach to problem solving and a growing depth of expertise across AWS services. Implement and manage cloud-based solutions, ensuring high availability and performance. Automate deployment and management of cloud resources Perform regular system backups, updates, and patch management. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to AWS services and cloud applications. Collaborate with development teams to optimize cloud resources for application performance. Maintain security best practices and compliance standards for cloud infrastructure. Strong understanding of networking concepts and security protocols. Familiarity with automation tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
