Perseus Group is looking for a senior to intermediate WordPress web developer to own the ongoing maintenance, security, and optimization of our primary website. This is a long-term contract role focused on maintaining a mature WordPress codebase that is stable, secure, and evolving.What you’ll doOwn ongoing maintenance of our WordPress website, including updates, fixes, and improvementsExecute cosmetic and structural site changes while protecting the integrity of the existing codebaseRegularly evaluate WordPress plugins, assess vulnerabilities, and apply patches or replacements as neededSupport and extend a multilingual website, including adding new languages with proper SEO structure and localization best practicesEnsure the site is optimized for organic search, including traditional SEO foundations and emerging AI-driven search considerationsProactively flag risks, performance issues, or technical debt and recommend practical solutionsWhat we’re looking forSenior or strong intermediate WordPress developer with hands-on experience maintaining production websitesDeep understanding of WordPress core, themes, plugins, and custom developmentStrong grasp of website security, vulnerability management, and performance optimizationExperience working with multilingual WordPress setups and SEO implications across languagesSolid SEO knowledge, including technical SEO, structured data, and AI-influenced search visibilityComfortable collaborating with hosting providers and internal stakeholdersClear communicator who works independently and flags issues earlyContract detailsRate: $50–$75 CAD per hourTime commitment: ~15–20 hours per month, with flexibility for project-based spikesLocation: RemoteEligibility: Based in North AmericaAvailability: Must be available during EST working hoursFLSA Designation (US Only):Non-ExemptSalary Range:The estimated base salary range for this role is USD$48.88 - USD$59.74 per hour.
