Your work will be the bridge between users and technology, ranging from engineering work that harnesses modern technologies to complex product thinking to help us solve the intricate problems we encounter every day. Your work will span both technical and non-technical facets.Write clean, scalable services, frontend components, APIs, and backend code using modern languages and frameworks (GraphQL, Ruby on Rails, Node.js, TypeScript).Harness AI to develop code quickly, prototype changes, and work across the entire tech stack to implement features that users interact with every day.Collaborate cross-functionally with Data Scientists, Designers, Product Managers, and Software Engineers to build robust and easy-to-use products and customer-facing workflow tools.Help monitor our 24/7 interviewing machine and keep Karat's services available.Maintain the high technical quality bar Karat sets; develop effective processes to ensure our products have high-quality code and minimal defects.Remain flexible enough to handle the unknowns that come with fast company growth.The experience you will bringProfessional (post-grad, post-intern) experience writing code in at least one of the following programming languages, building web applications using modern best practices
TypeScript, Ruby on Rails, React, or similar modern frameworks and languagesExperience or strong interest in using AI and code generation tools to accelerate developmentExperience working on a collaborative engineering team developing productsEager to learn new technologies and dive into solving complex product problems with the teamStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent cross-functional communication abilities; can translate technical concepts for diverse stakeholderThis position is only available to candidates residing in the following U.S. states: CT, Washington, D.C., FL, GA, IL, KS, MA, MD, MO, NC, NV, OR, PA, RI, SC, TX, VA, and WA.
