This role requires deep expertise in numerical modelling, 2D/3D geotechnical analysis, and hands-on experience with Rocscience tools and other industry-standard software.You will serve as a regional technical reference, supporting clients, universities, partners, and internal teams to strengthen technical excellence and enable the successful adoption of Rocscience solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the advanced technical support function for Rocscience LATAM, addressing complex geomechanical and numerical modelling inquiries.Prepare high-quality educational and training materials, including course content, tutorials, technical notes, and documentation.Deliver open-registration courses, on-site training, webinars, and specialized workshops for clients and academic audiences.Support the commercial team with technical demonstrations, proof-of-concept modelling, and pre-sales guidance as needed.Develop case studies, modelling examples, and technical papers relevant to mining and civil engineering applications.Collaborate with global technical and R&D teams to stay aligned with product updates, new features, and modelling best practices.Represent Rocscience at industry conferences, academic events, and professional engagements across LATAM.Required QualificationsPhD in Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geomechanics, or a closely related field.Minimum 5 years of field or applied geotechnical experience in mining, civil infrastructure, tunnels, or tailings.Demonstrated proficiency with Rocscience 3D tools (e.g., RS3, Slide3, RocSlope3).Experience with at least one major numerical modelling tool (e.g., FLAC, FLAC3D, PLAXIS 2D/3D, UDEC/3DEC).Strong understanding of FEM, LEM, DEM and geotechnical characterization.Excellent communication skills for teaching, presenting, and writing technical content.Ability and willingness to travel within LATAM for training, onsite sessions, and events.Fluent in Spanish; intermediate to advanced English required for global collaboration.Preferred QualificationsPrior experience teaching or delivering technical training.Experience creating modelling guidelines, best-practice documents, or technical publications.Background in consulting, mining operations, or research institutions.Familiarity with geotechnical challenges common in Latin America (Andean slopes, deep excavations, underground mining, tailings, etc.).What We OfferFully remote role based in Peru or Mexico.Opportunity to directly influence geotechnical practice across LATAM through education and advanced modelling.Competitive compensation aligned with experience and market standards.Full access to Rocscience’s software suite, ongoing learning opportunities, and participation in international conferences.
