Who you are
The ideal candidate is a Data Engineer with strong data analytics experience to build and operate scalable, reliable data systems
Experience with Ruby (or Ruby on Rails) and GCP services is a strong advantage
3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or Analytics Engineer
Strong programming skills in Python
Solid experience with SQL and analytical data modeling
Hands-on experience with BigQuery
Production experience with dbt (dbt Labs)
Experience building and maintaining analytics-ready datasets
Strong software engineering fundamentals (testing, version control, code reviews)
Desirable
Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services (e.g., Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Composer)
Experience with Looker (LookML, semantic modeling, dashboards)
Background working with Product to gather requirements and understanding business needs
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code
Experience with streaming or event-based architectures
Experience with Ruby or Ruby on Rails is a plus

What the job involves
UJET is searching for a Data Engineer to join our growing Engineering team
You will work closely with backend, product, and analytics teams to enable data-driven decision making and power production features
Our data stack includes BigQuery, dbt (dbt Labs), Python, and Looker, running on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
You'll collaborate with analytics and finance teams to enable trusted metrics and dashboards in Looker
Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python and dbt
Develop and optimize BigQuery data models for analytics and product use cases
Implement ELT workflows and enforce best practices in dbt (testing, documentation, versioning)
Integrate data workflows with backend services and APIs
Ensure data quality, reliability, and observability
Optimize performance and cost across BigQuery and data pipelines
Support experimentation, reporting, and advanced analytics use cases
Collaborate with CI/CD enhancements to existing process
Participate in infrastructure decisions to implement data ingestions pipelines
Security, data protection and compliance (SDPC) are paramount to the success of our partnerships
