This team is charged with creating modern, resilient services and capabilities to service the US Government for the next decade and beyond.We're seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to help take our build and deployment automation to the next level. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will build the development and deployment infrastructure used by our Space Communications team, which provides infrastructure for a wide variety of US Government satellites; you will play a key role in building a cutting-edge communications platform for US government satellites. You will have a role in determining what we build and how we work. You'll work as an individual contributor and a lead for more junior engineers.What you will be focusing on:Working with a team to develop and operate automated build and deployment infrastructure in GitLab CI/CD and AtlantisDeveloping and operating automated build and deployment infrastructureWriting and maintaining Cloud InfrastructureOwning technical problems end-to-endMaintain multiple Kubernetes clusters in productionPackaging software into Helm ChartsWriting and maintaining Cloud Infrastructure with TerraformConfigure and maintain a federated message bus infrastructureMaintaining CI/CD pipelines Supporting software engineering teams with the use and integration of pipelines and cloud infrastructureEnsuring developed infrastructure and CI/CD solutions seamlessly deploy/integrate with third-party platforms and infrastructuresYou might be a good fit if you have:You have 5+ years of progressively responsible software engineering experience in a DevOps roleLeveraged a major cloud provider's (AWS, Azure, GCP) services in a production settingA habit of self-directed learning of new technologiesStrong experience with either Python or GoStrong experience with Ansible automationYou have made enough mistakes and booked enough wins to know what not to build and what good looks likeThe ability to see through the noise to the most critical problem.The ability to provide technical leadership, guide, and mentor junior engineersExcellent communication skills, working with end-users to design and build solutions to their needs, a habit of self-directed learning of new technologies, and the ability to learn quickly and adapt to a fast-paced environmentLOCATIONThis is a fully remote role. All work must be completed in the United States.
