Experience: ExperiencedSecurity Clearance Level: Public Trust (MBI) Military Veterans are highly encouraged to apply! Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEstablish database management systems, standards, requirements, guidelines, and quality assurance for database deliverables such as conceptual design and architecture, logical database, capacity planning, external data interface specification, data loading plan, data maintenance plan, and security policyWork with clients to translate business requirements into a logical model that will accurately support and represent the client’s entity relationship and flow of dataDevelop the appropriate database framework to convert the logical model into a physical model, including the creation and maintenance of schemas containing windows, screens, tables, columns, and reports that support the modelMake recommendations to maximize opening efficiency, support storage requirements and vendor software updates, enforce data governance, and ensure recovery is maintainedParticipate in quality assurance and develop test application code in client server environment Required Skills and ExperienceProven track record of working with complex database systems and data warehousing solutionsExperience with database design, architecture, and data modelingProficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL) programming and query optimizationStrong knowledge of database management systems (DBMS) such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQLExperience with performing tuning, indexing, and database query optimization techniquesAn ability to write and troubleshoot complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggersFamiliarity with Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes and tools (e.g., SSIS, Informatica, Talend)An understanding of data warehousing concepts and technologiesKnowledge of backup and recovery processesExperience with database security, user roles, and permissionsProficiency in scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell for database automation tasksStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and collaboration abilitiesCapability to work independently and as part of a teamAttention to detail and commitment to high-quality workAn ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlinesA strong understanding of business processes and requirements gatheringAn ability to mentor and provide technical guidance to junior developersProfessional CertificationsNone required, but advanced certifications in database management systems (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Certified Professional) are preferredYears of Professional ExperienceEight (8) or more years of professional experienceEight (8) or more years of experience in SQL development and database managementDesired experienceElectronic Data Interchange X.12 (EDI) Medical ClaimsX.12 medical claims (837, 834, 277, etc)Experience with T-SQLExperience in a high paced DevOps environmentExperience working with remote U.S. based teams (Not Offshore teams)Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or other engineering/technical disciplineFamiliarity with cloud database solutions (e.g., Amazon Web Services Relational Database Service (AWS RDS), Azure SQL Database)Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)Familiarity with Agile development methodologiesFormal EducationBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or other engineering/technical disciplineCitizenship RequirementU.S. Citizenship required for this specific opportunitySecurity Clearance RequirementsMust possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI)CRITICAL NOTES: SSG will not make assumptions regarding your qualifications.
